Mum - Our shining light

Mum

The day you left us a shining light went out of our lives, we are heart broken but glimmers of your shining light that made us all so happy are beginning to come back as we remember the lauughter we've had with you and the funny things you have said.

You were an a wonderfully loving, strong and caring Mum. Always their making our breakfast before we went to school and later to work and we always came home to your lovely fairy cakes and sponges (Always remembered by Emma-Jane). Alice always says I'm a 'feeder, I guess I learnt that from you 😁. One thing I always remember is Saturday lunch, fresh rolls from Plaxtol bakery and soup - one of my favourites!

The stories you told of how you would keep us occupied as children by mowing the lawn in stripes so that we could ride our go-kart up and down whilst you were doing it. As young children giving up a hammer, piece of wood and nails to use whilst you were doing something, can you imagine if we did that now people would be outraged 🤣 knitting clothes for my Tiny Tears, doing a 'hide and week with the Christmas presents one year when we were too old to still believe in Santa coming. Working in the strawberry fields to help with extra money, those days were lovely - fresh strawberries every night for pudding. All those little things you did for us and many more! We couldn't have had a better Mum ❤

Your family was your life and you did everything you could to make our lives happy. Your times spent with Katie, Alice and Sarah were such treasured ones for both you and Pop-pops. All the time you spent playing with them when they were little, all very treasured memories. You often talked about the joy they gave you and photo's show this. You were so special to the girls and we have often had lots of laughter about things you've said to them, your 'stirring' they loved to!

We had such great times over the last few years going out for lunch and shopping. My goodness when I looked in your wardrobe the other day, the amount of clothes still with labels on. I'm often told I'm a shopaholic but I guess I had a great teacher in you! 😉👚👠👜🛍 I loved our days together and only wish we could still be having them.

I know you missed Dad desperately when he left and I hope you are both happy reunited again. I was looking at your photo's  this week and the love and laughter on both of your faces tells how much you meant to each other and made me really smile. Edie told me one day of how she always heard you and Dad chattering and laughing together in the garden, what a wonderful life learning for us all!

Your times with Joyce, John and David you've always treasured and that could be heard in how you talked about them, as i said family were everything to you.

I have so many wonderful memories of our times spent together, I miss you more than words can say but I'm thinking of all the good times and it's helping to dry the tears and making me smile. One of your little things that makes us laugh, while out shopping together " Jacqueline do you really think you're going to fit into that size" - so cheeky!! 🤣🤣

Rest in peace Mum, you are in our hearts and thoughts every day and we love you more than words can say.

Jackie, Chris, Katie and Alice
